Sure, we have the largest inventory around, but it's the people that make Hommel the place plumbers, contractors, and residents go for plumbing and heating supplies on the North Fork. Here's a little about our team.
Howard Silverman, Partner
Howard has been involved at Hommel since 2021, managing the store for the former owners until purchasing the company in 2023.
As a CPA, Howard brings to Hommel thirty years of experience in all aspects of business operations.
Howard was born in Queens and currently lives on Long Island. He looks forward to spending as much of his time in Greenport as possible.
Howard serves as treasurer of the Long Island Plumbing and Heating Wholesalers Association, Inc. as well as serving on his Co-op Board. He's also an active member of the North Fork Chamber of Commerce.
Michele R. Falk, Partner
Michele is an accountant who has worked in the Public and Private sectors for over 35 years, holding various positions including currently as Chief Financial Officer for Kenilworth Equities. Ltd. She brings extensive experience in business operations, budgeting, and financing to Hommel.
Michele has lived her entire life on Long Island and is honored and excited to be a part of Hommel and the vibrant Greenport community.
Her passions include traveling with her friends and family and knitting.
Jeremias Velasquez, Manager
Jeremias Velasquez has over 15 years of experience working for Hommel as a manager and leader.
He has extensive hands-on experience in both plumbing and heating. In fact, he has worked with many of the plumbers that shop in our store to this day.
Jeremias is always happy to help with any plumbing and heating project you might have, from simply identifying the right replacement part to guiding you through repairs and installations.
Jeremias was born in El Salvador and eventually moved to the United States. He moved to Greenport in 2007 looking to start a family. They currently live in East Marion.
Jeremias is always watching the weather; he won't miss out on a good fishing trip.
Emilio Mazariegos, Assistant Manager
Emilio Mazariegos has over 4 years of commercial sale experience in plumbing and heating.
Emilio’s knowledge was passed to him by many of the local plumbers in the area. Emilio is always happy to share his expertise with our customers.
From helping you identify a part to finding your next fixture, Emilio is willing and ready to take on any problem you bring him. Emilio’s goal is to make your plumbing experience as quick and painless as possible.
Emilio grew up in Westhampton Beach. He moved to Mattituck with his father later in life. It was then he found out about Hommel. He is fan of combat sports and smiling.
Frank Wood, Sales Associate
Frank has extensive hands-on experience in plumbing and heating and he’s always willing to share his expertise with people in need of help, whether they're dealing with a simple clog, repairing a faucet, working on boilers or heat, roughing in their house, or patching a leak in their water lines.
Frank has been a resident of Suffolk County for over 50 years, and has done plumbing for over 20 years. He has ties with almost all of the local plumbers and he’s worked with many of them.
Frank lives in Riverhead with his family, where he’ll often help his neighbors and friends when they need a hand.

Jennifer Foster, Sales Associate
Jennifer grew up on the North Fork and she's witnessed the area's many changes over the years.
That's one of the reasons she loves working at Hommel, since it's been a constant in the town for over 80 years.
Jennifer has worked with Hommel since 2022 and is excited to be a part of helping us adapt to the changing times while staying true to our loyal customers.
